What is your understanding of Strategical Maintenance Management and its Strategies?
Strategic Maintenance:
The terminologies strategic maintenance is being used in different ways:
• There are maintenance strategies, as in preventive, corrective etc. That is more related to the tactical level within maintenance management and not to the strategic level.
• Strategic decision-making and setting up strategies to achieve corporate and maintenance related goals.
• Strategic reporting of certain strategic KPI’s.
In my opinion, strategic maintenance should be used within maintenance management as it is used in other management fields like HR, production, logistics and corporation.
Dose someone have any ideas or experiences in what the strategic issues within maintenance management are that should be looked at?
